West Boynton COBWRA

The Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations is an organization of 90 homeowner and condo associations representing over 100,000 residents located in the unincorporated area of Palm Beach County, west of the City of Boynton Beach. The City of Boynton Beach to the east, the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge to the west, and Hypoluxo Road bound this area to the north and the Lake Worth Drainage District L-30 canal to the south on the Delray Beach line.

COBWRA was founded in 1981 by seven residential associations and has grown ten times over the past 26 years. Incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1982, COBWRA adopted a firm policy from the onset, forbidding endorsement of any candidate for public office or of any political party. All Coalition work and positions taken on issues are based upon a non-partisan approach.

For information on meetings or joining, contact COBWRA at 561-736-9990, P.O. Box 740814, Boynton Beach, FL 33474-0814. All meetings are open to anyone interested, or Visit www.COBWRA.org for more information.

COWBRA's Mission

COBWRA’s mission is striving for the best quality of life for the residents of the West Boynton area. COBWRA provides information of common interest to member associations and recommends community positions to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, governmental agencies, contiguous municipalities, and other public organizations. COBWRA joins with the West Boca Community Council and the Alliance of Delray Residential Associations to form the South County Community Partnership and speak with a stronger voice in matters of interest for all South Palm Beach County residents.

Growth Management Committee

Most Coalition work is accomplished by very active committees: By managing growth to maintain the unique character of the area, the Growth Management Committee is concerned with suitability of new developments, architectural styles, landscaping, traffic flows and compatibility with neighboring communities and parcels. We invite developers to present their plans to COBWRA prior to seeking county approvals. Frequently, developers will incorporate suggestions by COBWRA and from the public into revised plans before submission for official approval. COBWRA officers speak frequently before the county Zoning Commission and Board of County Commissioners on new developments and the feedback from people in the affected area.

Quality of Life Committee

The Quality of Life Committee manages the flu shot program in community clubhouses, works with the Fire-Rescue Service, the Sheriff’s Office, medical and cultural organizations to improve the health care, safety and cultural opportunities for West Boynton residents.
