It is a little known fact that many consider the just offshore of Boynton Beach some of the most exciting underwater sites in Florida, if not the world. The entire area just outside of Boynton's inlet is basically one giant dive site. And unlike many places in the world today, the local underwater landscape is lush, healthy and full of wonderful marine life in every shape, size and color imaginable.
Fishermen studying their navigational charts know that Boynton Beach has an undisputed advantage over all other Atlantic Ocean cities ”” it is the closest community to the Gulf Stream. That means, if you enjoy fishing, you can be in 800 feet of beautiful crystal blue water and deep sea fishing within 5 minutes, after departing from the Boynton Inlet.

To make access to deep sea fishing even easier, the City of Boynton Beach owns and operates Boat Ramp Park, a public boat ramp for anyone who trailers a boat. This launching facility is only a few minutes away from Boynton Inlet. If you don't have your own boat, drift fishing charters are available three times a day and charter-fishing boats depart daily from the Sea Mist Marina.

The Parks and Recreation Department at the City of Boynton Beach has a great deal to be excited about. The Intracoastal Park opened in the fall of 2003. This 2.3 million dollar project includes a Veteran's Memorial, picnicking areas, and a small splash-playground for youngsters and beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway. At Boat Club Park area boaters can launch and navigate in and out of the Boynton Inlet much easier thanks to the recent channel dredging and the new highly visible channel markers. Boaters have several other enhancements at Boat Club Park, along with the channel improvements, including 75 boat trailer parking spaces, renovated launching ramps and additional loading docks.
